Banana Manor – Guesthouse * Casa de Hóspedes * Zimmervermietung * Chambres d’Hôtes

The house on rua da Conceição 22 was built in the 18th century by a well known ship captain. The building was reconstructed and the ancient facade was refurbished. Finished in March 2010, the house offers a choice of rooms on two floors. Both floors have spacious kitchens and large living rooms that can also serve for meetings, workshops, screenings etc. Rooms on the ground floor have private bathrooms, rooms on the 1st floor each share a bathroom with one other room. A terrace to the backyard lines every floor.

You are welcome to take a stroll through our banana plantation and lush gardens. Have a chat with our chickens, watch lizards lurking on the walls, relax in a hammock or try to capture the variety of endemic plants and flowers with your camera. When you work your way up to the top of the yard you will be rewarded with a fantastic view of the bay of Horta and of Pico mountain.

Grocery shops, the market, bakeries and cafes as well as popular restaurants are within just a few minutes walking distance. Also close by are Conceição beach and Alagoa park, with an indoor swimming pool, playground, skate park and basketball court. We are only 5 minutes walk away from the new ferry terminal where you can catch boats to the other islands. The marina with activities such as diving or whale-watching is a 15-20 minute walk from our house or 3 minutes by taxi (ca. 4 Euros).

Children are welcome at the Banana Manor. Our backyard is a wonderful place for discovering nature with your little ones. We can provide a travel bed for babies/ toddlers, a high chair, a group 1 car seat for your rental car and even a strider bike + helmet!

Your hosts, James & Claudia, are available for any advice or information that you might need. We speak English, Portuguese, German and French and look forward to meeting you.
